The Turkish language contains some special characters with special sounds, and some standard english characters have different sounds in Turkish:
ç pronounced ch as in chop
ğ has no sound, it lengthens the preceding vowel
ı (no dot above) pronounced uh like the second e in speaker
i (with dot above) pronounced ee as in litre
ö pronounced ur like the i in dirt
ş pronounced sh as in should
u pronounced oo as in blue (not but)
ü pronounced ew as in clue
c pronounced dj but just sounds like j as in jump
j pronounced zh like the s in pleasure
